Day 1 - Monday May 18th

Day one of the 2026 STEMNetX Fellowship Boot Camp focused on building foundational skills, professional development, and cohort connections. Fellows began the day with the first session of a week-long Python programming workshop led by Dr. Michael McCracken, Associate Professor of Physics and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Washington & Jefferson College.

Throughout the day, fellows participated in professional headshot sessions, a resume workshop, and networking activities hosted by the Washington & Jefferson College Center for Professional Pathways. Students also attended a panel discussion featuring faculty, alumni, and STEM professionals, gaining insight into a variety of educational and career pathways.

The afternoon included a guided tour of the Washington & Jefferson College campus before concluding with cohort networking activities designed to help fellows connect with one another, share their experiences, and begin building lasting professional relationships.
