Washington & Jefferson High School Bridge Program - July 2025
STEMNetX is thrilled to participate in the Washington & Jefferson College High School Bridge Program, a weeklong residential experience designed to immerse 24 high school students in college-level learning and campus life. Throughout the week, students will live on campus, attend interactive classes, and engage in enrichment activities that build academic confidence and encourage them to pursue higher education.
As part of the program, STEMNetX lead a full-day, hands-on workshop focused on introducing students to foundational concepts in physics, electronics, computer science and Robotics. The workshop will center around Arduino microcontroller projects that gradually build in complexity, starting with basic circuitry and progressing to small, functional prototypes. Through these guided challenges, students will gain practical skills in coding, wiring, and problem-solving while making real-world connections to engineering and technology.
The workshop is designed to be engaging and exploratory, especially for students with limited prior exposure to STEM. By the end of the day, participants will have a deeper understanding of how circuits and code power everyday technologies, along with increased confidence in their ability to learn and create within STEM fields. STEMNetX’s approach emphasizes creativity, curiosity, and hands-on discovery, fostering a sense of excitement and possibility in students as they explore STEM in a college environment.
