Day 3 - Wednesday May 20th

Day three of the 2026 STEMNetX Fellowship Boot Camp focused on advanced research and emerging technologies. Fellows visited the University of Pittsburgh's SHREC: Center for Space, High-Performance, and Resilient Computing (Pitt Space), where they learned about research and applications related to space systems, computing, and engineering.

The cohort also toured the Petersen Institute of NanoScience and Engineering (PINSE) at Benedum Hall, gaining exposure to cutting-edge nanotechnology research and specialized laboratory facilities. During their visit, fellows explored advanced equipment and research spaces, including 3D printing laboratories and electron microscopy facilities, providing a firsthand look at the tools used in modern scientific and engineering research.

The day concluded with a group dinner at Primanti Bros., giving fellows an opportunity to relax, connect with one another, and experience one of Pittsburgh's most iconic local traditions.
