Akriti Mishra

Akriti Mishra is a first-generation TRIO McNair Scholar pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Her recent research experience includes the effects of entanglement on hydrogel osmotic pressure, working under the mentorship of Dr. Liu. In addition to her research, Mishra has gained valuable experience in graphic design, model simulation, and hands-on CAD design using SolidWorks for mechanical engineering projects.

As an immigrant from Nepal, Mishra is deeply motivated to overcome challenges and pursue opportunities for academic and personal growth. Her dedication extends beyond her own success—she strives to uplift her family, contribute to her community, and support fellow students who face similar obstacles.
